Chemistry as the science about substance
Posted (admin) on 17-04-2008

Chemistry is a very old science that studies different types of substances. The springs of today's chemistry have come from the ancient times. It used to be called alchemy - there were the attempts to turn iron into gold. Nowadays chemistry just scrutinizes the ingredients of different matters, their atomic levels and the processes that occur while various substances are being mixed. What is more, chemistry as a science is associated with providing an explanation for the forenamed phenomena in the form of a law. Chemistry interacts very closely with biology and physics.

Inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry analytical chemistry, physical and biological chemistry are the parts of general term “Chemistry”.

The calling of organic chemistry was created because scientists believed that the organic elements have the relation to the life. That was a wrong thought. As it turned out, a lot of organic elements are not related to any living organisms of life processes. On the contrary, some inorganic elements are necessary for some life organisms, for example, cooper and iron.

Organic chemistry promotes the analysis of matters which are made of carbon and hydrogen. This science studies their structure, properties, composition and reactions. There are lots of commonly utilized products that couldn't be developed without the researches of organic chemistry.

Analytical chemistry studies composition of organic and inorganic substances. It studies geometric properties of molecules, composition and species identity. It studies the elements given, their combination and properties. Analytical and physical chemistry are very similar, due to they research the same processes but take some different information from them. The scientists that work in that field give a lot for the saving of natural resources and the safety of the environment.
